Started with shipyard redundancy money. Still building things properly, by hand.
How it started
In 1998 Iain took his redundancy money from the shipyard and opened a bike shop in Clydebank. That’s the short version, and it’s the true one.
This is a town that built things, and built them properly. When the yard work went, the standard didn’t have to go with it. So we kept it, and put it into bikes.
Whether it’s a commuter’s chain, a gravel build down to the last spacer, or a trike set up to fit a child, the job gets done right.
Three worlds now share one shop floor: Urban, Gravel and Adaptive. Different riders, different conversations, same family and the same pair of hands on the spanner.
In the workshop
Not most of them, not the senior ones. Every mechanic who works on your bike here is Cytech trained. It’s the one rule in this shop that nobody bends.
That goes for a quick puncture repair as much as a full custom build.
