Clydebank Cycles / World 03

Adaptive cycling.

Bikes and trikes for children and adults, set up around the person riding them. No rush, no jargon. Just a conversation to start.

Can you help someone like me, or my child?

Very often, yes.

We work with children and adults of all ages and abilities, including riders coming back to cycling after a stroke or an amputation.

If we can't find the right answer, we'll tell you honestly. Either way, you'll leave knowing more than when you came in.

Rider stories

It's been done before. Here's how it went for other families.

Every story here is shared with written permission. Each family chooses how they appear: full name, first name, or initials, with or without faces.

The range

Eight to ten core bikes and trikes. Each one set up for its rider.

We start from a core range, then adjust it to the person. Once it's fitted, it's practically made for them.

Trikes for children

Sized and set up for a growing rider, then adjusted as they grow.

Trikes for adults

Stable, comfortable and adjusted to how you ride.

More of the range

The rest of the core range will be shown here. Ask us about anything you've seen elsewhere, too.

There's no shopping basket here, and there never will be. Every adaptive bike starts with a conversation.

How it works

Three steps. Take as long as you need.

  1. Conversation

Tell us about the rider: what they'd like to do, and anything we should know. By email or in the shop. No forms full of medical terms.

  2. Fitting

We bring the rider and the bike together and adjust it until it's right. Our mechanics are all Cytech trained, and we don't hurry this part.

  3. Riding

Off you go. If anything needs changing later, as a child grows or needs change, come back and we'll adjust it.

For therapists, OTs, schools and charities

We'll work alongside you.

We work with therapists, occupational therapists, schools and charities as well as families. We're happy to talk to you directly, and to work with you and the family together.

  • Therapists and OTsShare what you know about the rider, and we'll set the bike up around it.
  • SchoolsTalk to us about riders in your care and what would work for them.
  • CharitiesIf you're funding a purchase, we'll work with you and the family on the details.

Help with funding

Worried about the cost? Let's look at it together.

We work with families, charities, schools and health or social work budgets, case by case, to find a funding route that fits. Every situation is different, so we'll talk it through with you rather than guess.
